Ghosts in the Snow (IL-2 mod. 1942)

The mass airstrikes planned for Operation Uranus have been cancelled due to the low cloud and heavy snow. Instead, only pairs of IL-2’s flown by the most experienced navigators are being sent out. Your mission is to carry out a road patrol in the area marked by the target markers and to destroy enemy reinforcements heading for our crossing sites on the Don.

- This is predominantly a low level navigation problem. It is 45km from your airbase to your target, about 10 minutes flight. You should identify your route and the landmarks you expect to see on the way, e.g. Don Crossing bridge, left, 7 minutes. This will help keep you on the right route.
